Good Tidings

I've received a lot great emails lately from my readers. Maybe you sent me one. Maybe you left a nice comment. Maybe you've been reading this blog and have never written a single word to me but you keep reading it every so often and you're glad this project is here. Either way, I'm glad that you're here.

This project has been about more than just one chick watching all of  Star Trek in one year. It's also been about you and our shared experiences. If you've been influenced by this project in some way, and you'd like to say something about it--even if its only a few sentences--I want to let you know that I really want to hear from you. And, if you're willing, I'd love to share your experience with the other readers. What I'm saying is, if you're interested in a guest post--please let me know. My Year of Star Trek has also become your Year Of Star Trek and you should have a chance to say what that's meant to you. I would love to hear from you and so would everyone else.

In the meantime, please enjoy staring at this little (hugnormous) illustration which took me way longer than I'd anticipated but (I think) ended up being well worth it:

Happy All The Days

My Year Of Star Trek

PS- If you've been here for a while, you might recognize yourself.

  3. This is AMAZING! I love your rendition of everyone Star -Trek-ified! Your blog is inspirational and so entertaining. While I haven't been able to completely keep up with it, I have definitely watched more Star Trek this year than I ever have, ever! And that's a good thing because I've fallen in love with it too. Thank you for that and for your invaluable friendship.

  4. Love the blog, loooove the artwork, the insights, the personal reflection and experiences you bring to your writing.

    I have a suggestion. A hope. A prod.

AshleyRose, write the next Star Trek show! I know what you're thinking. Writing in Hollywood is so competitive and yadda yadda, longshot, connections... Oh, come on, there's so much crap on TV you can top it all just by writing complete sentences and forming some kind of plot. We're hungry for good shows and you can do this. Besides, you're kind of there already. I mean, you know a few people and, well, dream big.

And so I imagine myself here on my familiar couch, watching a future Star Trek written by you, observing intently for any fan-love and guest stars the new show may offer. (That Emergency Medical Hologram looks just like the real Emergency Medical Hologram! That Picard clone looks just like the real Picard! I am so glad she brought back Kirk!) Of course, new stories and new worlds too. Where will you take us? What will we do? Not to mention the coolness factor of knowing the writer in only the way you can know someone you don't know at all, but are so glad you know. Thank you, Internet!

Ding...ding...ding...space the final frontier. I can hear it now.

    Try.

  6. So the Wrath of Khan was on Syfy the other night. But it was dinner time so we pressed record on the DVR. After dinner, we went back downstairs to watch the end of the movie. Our 4 year old Marion wasn't too interested and was playing with her toys. After the movie ended, the DVR reverted back to TV, which was tuned to BBC America, which naturally had TNG on. Picard was on the screen drinking some Earl Grey. Marion picked her head up and said, "Oh, it's the real Star Trek." She climb on the couch and watched with us.

    1. HA! This is fantastic. Our TV is often left on BBC while we go over to Netflix and I'm always pleased when we turn it back and Star Trek is on. Scott and I like to see who can name what episode it is in the shortest amount of time. Obviously, thanks to the last year, I tend to be pretty quick on the buzzer with this "Real Star Trek" weirdo trivia game.
